Yabang Pinoy - (update)

There is the Livestrong wristband which was made for the “Wear Yellow Live Strong” educational program which is intended to raise money for cancer research and raise cancer awareness. Now, Filipinos also have our very own “Yabang Pinoy” band.
The band is part of the “Yabang Pinoy” campaign to raise awareness and heighten Filipino people’s ethos, dignity and pride. The band will help promote and remind Filipinos to be proud of their nationality. It is made of natural fiber Abaca because the Philippines is known to be the largest source of Abaca fiber. There are a number of stores selling the band which costs P50. Islands Souvenirs is one of them. Proceeds from the “Yabang Pinoy” campaign will go to projects that aim to instill pride among the Filipino people.
I’m not sure when the campaign started. I have not noticed anybody wearing the band yet. But once the word gets out, it just might start to become a fad just like the Live Strong band. Go Pinoy!

I thought the color of the band was yellow… I was wrong so i decided not to buy.

im wearing my LIVESTRONG yellow band for almost 20 mos. now.
I am really interested in knowing why there is always a need to instill pride in the people and assert to the world that they are Filipinos. I catch the slightest whiff of insecurity. But I could be wrong. After all, smokers have the worst olfactory sense.
I will try to buy one later…

wow 20 months? you dont take it off what so ever? so you wear it even you take a shower? doesnt it get like smelly? hahhaha since its rubber?

hmm..interesting. i think i’m gonna ask someone to buy one for me and send it to me. i’m just concerned about it’s being made of abaca. could it cause skin rashes? another concern is when it absorbs the sweat, would it stink? hahaha
where can I buy the livestrong wristbands here in the philippines?
@olrayt - not sure if Nike Park has it…i got mine from the US.
