For the first time in the history, our house in Bacolod was flooded with water – about 4″ inches deep. My sister told me that the level of water outside our house was about 3″ and 4″ deep along the streets. Whoaahh!!!
Is it a bad timing since we will have our vacation there this coming weekend? ![]()
Floods hit Bacolod, Talisay; States of calamity declared
BY CARLA GOMEZBacolod and Talisay cities were placed under states of calamity yesterday after flooding caused 2,167 families to evacuate, destroyed 112 houses, and damaged 3,356 others when heavy rains that poured after midnight were exacerbated by high tide.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the Bacolod Sanggunian unanimously declared a state of calamity on his request, so P5 million could be allocated to assist the flood victims. read full story here >>
