Hooters Manila coming soon at the Fort! It will be open to the public on February 2008! I am not that excited like Anton…but i do love their chicken wings! :)

“Hooters characterizes itself as a neighborhood place, not a family restaurant. Seventy percent of all customers are male, most between the ages of 25-54. Hooters does not market itself to families. However, Hooters has a kid’s menu, and often gives out balloons to toddler visitors; indeed in Australia, Hooters promotes itself as having a “fun family atmosphere” and “Kids Eat Free Tuesday” on its radio advertisements.”

Are they going to the same here in Manila?

Twitter on CSI

CSI on bloggers…

Greg: “Some people just don’t value privacy….”
Archie: “They don’t expect privacy…they value openness”

I was surprised when CSI agents were browsing Twitter for their investigation. “If you’ve got a band…you’ve got a blog” but why Twitter? :D

CSI: Goodbye Sara

by koolitz on November 17, 2007 in TV Series

“Gil,

You know I love you. I feel I’ve loved you forever.

Lately I haven’t been feeling very well. Truth be told, I’m tired.

Out in the desert, under that car that night, I realized something and I haven’t been able to shake it.

Since my father died, I spent almost my entire life with ghosts. We’ve been like close friends and out there in the desert, it occured to me, that it was time for me to bury them. I can’t do that here.

I’m so sorry.

No matter how hard I try to fight it off, I’m left with a feeling that, I have to go. I have no idea where I’m going, but I know I have to do this. If I don’t, I’m afraid I’ll self-destruct, and worse, you’ll be there to see it happen. Be safe.

Know that I tried very hard to stay. Know that you are my one and only. I will miss you with every beat of my heart. Our life together was the only home I’ve ever really had. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I love you…I always will.

Goodbye.”

After Agent Gideon of Criminal Minds…now Agent Sara of CSI. WHY?! :-(

Criminal Minds Anti-Windows?

I laughed when I saw this scene on Criminal Minds Season 3 episode 8 where FBI Audio/Visual Technician Penelope Garcia helped a guy in a coffee shop with his laptop running on Windows Vista. :-) Check out this clip and see what I mean.

Prison Break Season 3 Episode 4

“As Michael starts to hatch an escape scheme, Whistler warns him that if he doesn’t give up the book, he’ll tell the Company that Linc has it. Michael is unfazed. He asks to borrow McGrady’s cross necklace, but McGrady demands to know why.

Linc, still freaked by the bloody box, visits Michael, who asks Linc to make friends with the prison gravedigger. We see in flashback what was in the box: Sara’s severed head.

Michael cuts the power in the prison, then visits a trembling Mahone, going through withdrawal, to enlist him in his escape plan. He asks for a black felt tip pen. Bellick’s watching. Mahone begins to hallucinate that Haywire is there, warning him against trusting Michael.

A man tries to escape; Lechero catches him and cuts his Achilles tendons in front of the other prisoners. Meanwhile, Sofia visits Whistler and insists on helping. Whistler asks her to dig into the Scofield brothers’ pasts. And Linc meets with Susan, who demands Linc give her the real book.
When Sucre refuses to help, Linc enlists Sofia as a translator so he can make friends with the prison gravedigger. The gravedigger recognizes Sofia from the prison gates. Okay, they’re going to have to try honesty.”

The Ruins in Talisay City

by koolitz on November 10, 2007 in Personal, Photoblog

The Ruins in Talisay City

“The structure of The Ruins is of Italianate achitecture with neo-Romanesque columns, having a very close semblance to the facade of Carnegie Hall in New York City. In New England, they often were homes to ship’s captians. A belvedere, facing west, affords a beautiful view of the sunset in a glassed-in sunroom with bay windows.

The mansion was built in the early 1900’s by the sugar baron, Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson (1865-1948) and was home to his unmarried children with his first wife, Maria Braga Lacson (+1911), a Portuguese from Macau. The mansion was the largest residential structure ever built at that time and had in it one of the finest furnitures, chinawares, and decorative items, as the father of the Maria Braga was a captain of a ship that sailed across Europe and Asia and would cart with him these items. One of their daughters maintained a beautiful garden of lilies in and around the 4-tiered fountain fronting the mansion, all brought in from abroad.

One of the sons supervised the construction of th mansion making certain that the A-grade mixture of concrete and its pouring was presisely followed.

The Ruins in Talisay City

The mansion met its sad fate in the early part of World War II (1942) when the USAFFE (United States Armed Forces in the Far East), then the guerilla fighters in the Philippines, burnt the mansion to prevent the Japanese forces from utilizing it as their headquarters. It took days of inferno to bring down the roof and the two-inch wooden floors.

To this day, the 903 square meter structure still stands tall amidst sugar plantation and continues to awe both local and foreign tourists. Truly, a picture-perfect backdrop and a magnificent sight to see.”
